Details: Theme is "Australian Portrait".
The theme refers to any aspect of portraiture executed in traditional or contemporary painting style.
Works can be in any medium on canvas, paper or hardboard. Entries Open 1st June Entries Close 12 noon 30th June Enter on-line - competition runs till 12 noon 31st of June Voting commences 1st -31st July and will be decided by an online popular voting system.

TATTERSALL CLUB LANDSCAPE ART PRIZE 2008
$20,000 Call for Artists Deadlines: 25 July 2008, Brisbane QLD
The Tattersall's Landscape Art Prize is one of Australia's most lucrative Landscape Art Prizes. The Art Prize is acquisitive. In 2008 the Club celebrates its nineteenth annual Art Prize.

THE SUNSHINE COAST ART PRIZE
Is a national contemporary painting and 2D art award. It is an initiative of Caloundra City Council and principal partner Sajen legal.
The winner will receive $15,000 plus a 4 week residency in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to the value of $5,000.
There is also a non-acquisitive people's choice award valued at $2,500 that will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
Entries Open: 14 Dec. - Entries Close: 30 March.

THE GALLIPOLI ART PRIZE VALUED AT: $15,000 (ACQUISITIVE)
The Gallipoli Art Prize Organising Committee invites any eligible artist to submit a painting
(subject to the conditions) in competition for the Gallipoli Art Prize of $15,000 which includes the Club's acquisition of the work for the Gallipoli Memorial Club Museum Fund.
The Gallipoli Art Prize will be awarded to the artist who best depicts the spirit of the Gallipoli Campaign as expressed in the Club's "Creed".
SWELL SCULPTURE FESTIVAL
Provides the community with a free outdoor event that creates a visual splendor amongst a natural coastal setting and the experience of interaction and wonder as artists create large durable artworks specifically built for the outdoor environment.

Acquisition and Awards of up to $30,000 include the Gold Coast City Council's $20,000 Acquisition Award. This continued support of Swell Sculpture ensures that the purchased artwork will be permanently installed in the division 14 precinct following the exhibition.

To enter: Send 2 identical and good quality photographs of your artwork (no larger than A4 size), an 80 word statement of inspiration, medium used, dimensions, price (including 35% commission) or 'Not For Sale' and entry form with payment.
Please note that judging will be done from your photographs and statement.


THE OLA COHN MEMORIAL SCULPTURE AWARD
A non-acquisitive sculpture prize and exhibition, with a cash prize of $5,000. The Award is conducted by the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) and is open to living, practicing artists, who are citizens of Australia, and have been a resident of Victoria for the previous twelve months. The winning sculpture will be required to be made available for display at the CAE Flinders Street and/or Ola Cohn Centre for the Arts Campuses for a three month period following the announcement of the Award winner.

NCA ART EXHIBITION 2008
We are proud to announce that the NCA will be running in 2008. Scheduled for mid May, this year's theme will be 'Freedom'. The Exhibition will look different to the past few years in relation to our categories; those being limited to Painting, Photography and Fashion/Jewellery. We will have our regular awards; the Resident of Newtown Award, and; the People's Choice Award. Applications close May 1st 2008

MELBOURNE PRIZE FOR URBAN SCULPTURE 2008
$60,000 cash Comprising: $30,000 cash, supported by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Fund; and $30,000 cash for the International Travel Grant, supported by the City of Melbourne.
The International Travel Grant will provide the recipient with a free itinerary for international travel for career development.
Artist fee for finalist $2,000 (incl. GST) each will be provided to a maximum of 10 finalists to assist with costs associated with the public exhibition. Supported by Australian Art Resources and the Melbourne Prize Trust.

In establishing the a plein air painting competition, The Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize Committee recognises this great and often overlooked aspect of Australian painting, with an acquisitive prize aimed at developing a collection of plein air paintings of NSW subjects, in perpetuity for the people of the New South Wales.

THE BLAKE PRIZE FOR RELIGIOUS ART
One of the more prestigious art prizes in Australia. For 55 years it has been awarding a prize for works of art that explore the subject of religious awareness and spirituality. In difference to art prizes that are awarded for distinct subject areas such as landscape or portraiture, the Blake has always invited a much more open, personal and idiosyncratic response, so much so that it has earned the criticism, ire and sometimes applause of critics and the public alike. After all, what is religious art?

THE SIGNATURE OF M ART PRIZE

The theme for the 2008 prize is paintings depicting the natural world with references to, and perceptions of, the important issues contained within.

Are a biennial contemporary painting competition open to all Australian artists. Presented by Redland Yurara Art Society and Redland Art Gallery, Redland Art Awards 2008 features four non-acquisitive prizes. $10,000 is awarded as first prize with runner up awards of $4,000 and $2,500 as well as the Meredith Foxton People's Choice Award of $500.

THE 2008 BLACK SWAN PRIZE for Portraiture.
The Black Swan Prize for Portraiture is poised to become a major player in Australian portraiture competitions by establishing a valid alternative to the Eastern State Portraiture Prizes.
Beginning with the 2007 Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, to be held at the historic Perth
This exciting event began with a bang in 2007 with a special retrospective exhibition of entrants of the Archibald Prize. Held in Perth, Western Australia, it was a huge success with over 5000 people attending the exhibition in a 6 day period. In 2008 the competition begins afresh with artists invited to paint a portrait of a well known/respected Australian.
This year the 1st prize is $20,000 with a special People's Choice Prize of $5,000.
In 2009 the 1st Prize will be $25,000 and in 2010 it will be $30,000.
