CATHY BEVIS ARTIST
Cathy studied art under Bill Robinson and Betty Churcher at the Brisbane CAE (now QUT) during the 1970’s. She graduated as a secondary school art teacher, wining the art prize.
Cathy has continued her art development and exhibited at local galleries.
Her work is primarily oil or acrylic on canvas, although she has also worked with silk, collage work, and printing.
Much of her work explores the emotional experience of relationships with a common theme of female form; mother, wife, sister, daughter and grandmother.
Her subjects reflect life's experiences.
Whilst much of her work reflects these themes, she also creates unique landscapes, both urban and rural.
At any time, Cathy is usually working on three or four paintings within a theme.
